Returned yesterday to a heat index of 112 degrees. Today was hotter. We spent most of it indoors and still felt beat down. Maybe it was more recovery from the trip than suffery from the heat. Come evening we ventured out for gourmet burgers at Five Guys and, indeed, they were pretty good. Back home Becky noticed an odd shape on the shrub by the steps; was a big moth! It was so still we wondered if it was dead or alive. Gave it a mild poke with a piece of straw and it flew off across the street.
