The Chappell Family Blog is officially open. This is where family members can post articles about whatever they think anybody else (ranging from family to the entire world) might want to hear about. The first thing along that line would be, well, the opening of the blog.
This actually started out as a project to develop a feature for Jeffrey’s website, so he could author some of his own content without having to get his webmaster to translate something to a web page and upload it to the host server. I thought I would try out some programs, experiment on the chappells.biz website, and then get Jeffrey’s website going. It sort of worked the other way, with Jeffrey’s getting done first, although it hasn’t actually been launched yet.
The program we’re using (WordPress) for this is actually a “beta” that’s still in development. At the moment, we’re using the latest development release, as opposed to an earlier “stable” version. Hopefully, we won’t discover too many bugs. During the past few weeks while I’ve been experimenting with this and other CMS (Content Management System) programs there have been a number of glitches, even one that I contributed a “fix” for!
Anyhow, there may not actually be much interest in this, but it’s been a fun learning experience for me. Enjoy!
