Pretty Cold Out, Scout
Sure has been cold in these parts the past week or so. Still got snow on the ground from a couple weeks ago that hasn’t melted, and then got more on top of that, and then some more on top of that. Fortunately, it only came a couple inches at a time, but still, sure has been cold, as in single digit cold.
Just wrote a check for the gas (heat) bill, $208.94. That doesn’t include cooking, as we have an electric stove.
The past week’s Scout Report spotlighted a couple of interesting websites I thought I’d pass along: Turn of the Century Posters and Met History. See teaser images below.
WordPress 2.1 Upgrade
Upgraded the blog to latest WordPress Ver. 2.1. Did same for my Oil & Gas Attorney Blog a few days ago, also Bandolero’s Blog. Bandolero was really easy, as the web host it’s on has “one-step” installation and also “one-step” updating of certain programs people might be using, and WordPress is one of them. The look and feel seem about the same as before. There are a number of security improvements, I think. That’s all I have time for right now. Mainly, this is a test of the update, to seeif anything went awry. Seems to be okay.

I’m gonna have to get more “hip” and get tuned in to YouTube. People are now sending me somewhat (though not truly gut-busting) humorous links that turn out to be YouTube creations. When I visited the YouTube site, it seemed to me YouTube had grown to phenomenal proportions in a phenomenally short time. I used to think I was pretty much up to speed with the cutting edge on the internet, but I can see I’ve actually been left in the dust. Thing is, I just don’t know where people find the time to “partake” of all this stuff! You could sit down at your computer in the morning and be there all day by the time you make much headway checking out the latest YouTube offerings, the latest hot blog offerings, the latest…. etc. etc. Anyway, the latest one somebody wanted me to look at was Gollum & Smeagol Sing Barry White, which doesn’t really do that much for me. Another one was this one about Laughter is Contagious which takes a little while to start getting to you but it sort of eventually gets you going.
